The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Warning Regarding New Year’s Fireworks
Pre-holiday or holiday periods are often accompanied by fireworks. While organizing this beautiful event, it is important to act within the law and prioritize public safety and the maintenance of public order. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
“When organizing fireworks, it is necessary to be guided by the provisions of the law on 'State Regulation of Technical Safety' and to obtain the necessary permission from the authorized body, the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The sequence of steps is as follows:
- Legal entities must obtain a license for the importation of pyrotechnic products, as well as for the use of household class III and technical class pyrotechnic products.
- To avoid undesirable consequences, legal entities, in addition to obtaining a license, must also acquire the relevant permission.
- The importation and use of pyrotechnic class III and technical class pyrotechnic products is permitted by the MIA exclusively for state and community events or events with state and community participation. For example, the fireworks that took place during the lighting ceremony of the main Christmas tree of the republic were carried out in accordance with the law, meaning that the company organizing the fireworks had a license and received the appropriate permission from the MIA.
We urge organizations conducting fireworks to have the relevant license and at the same time obtain permission for conducting fireworks. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is also implementing preventive measures before the fireworks, and in case of detecting violations, strict administrative actions will be carried out,” the statement reads.
