Magnetic Storm to Hit Earth

On December 25, after 16:00 Yerevan time, a magnetic storm will cover the Earth, said Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the 'Phobos' weather center. This was reported by news.ru.

According to him, the storm was caused by an eruption on the Sun that occurred on December 23. Its intensity has reached the maximum class X threshold, therefore the magnetic storm's strength on Earth will reach classes G1-G2. Additionally, the eruption may cause auroras.

“The ejection will reach Earth in the second half of December 25 and will lead to a moderate magnetic storm of classes G1-G2 after 15:00. The preliminary duration of the magnetic storm is estimated at 8-10 hours,” the specialist clarified.
