It's the Hysteria of a Narcissistic Idol: Zohrabyan to Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, having set aside state affairs, is making desperate efforts, having already made three posts and one video appeal in two days, asking the three presidents of Armenia to come and debate with him on what he has called the most absurd claim of his entire political career. This was stated by Levon Zohrabyan, Vice President of the Armenian National Congress, on his Facebook page.
“This maniacal persistence only signifies one thing. The enormous efforts made over the past years to clear his personal responsibility for the Nagorno-Karabakh disaster have yielded no results. He failed to convince the public that the former presidents, corrupt generals, Russia—who betrayed Armenia, a people unwilling to fight, and many other scapegoats of his own invention are to blame for the fate of Artsakh. And the elections are approaching, and the client has begun to 'nervously react.'”
“He knows very well what damage such a debate would cause to Armenia, if it were to happen God forbid, how much joy it would bring to Armenia's enemies, and how it would further undermine our already fragile reputation. He knows that any leader with even a hint of state thinking would never agree to cause such harm to their own homeland. Yet he is ready to divide this child in the argument like a child with a knife, just as he was ready to sacrifice Artsakh supposedly for the sake of Armenia's preservation, and now he is prepared to sacrifice any territory of Armenia, its independence, and dignity to maintain his power at the hands of the new masters of the region, in his view.”
This is merely the hysteria of a narcissistic idol losing public trust, trying to hang on by a thread. But I say again, before the judgment of history, no PR stunt is powerless,” he wrote.
