Changes to Bus Routes Announced by Galjyan
The head of the Yerevan City Council's Civil Contract faction, Armen Galjyan, has addressed the suspension of traffic for old small-class buses of the 'Hundai' brand starting January 1. He informed that the number of nine bus routes serviced by old buses will be replaced by new mid-class 'Zhong Tong' buses with double the capacity.
The replacements will be as follows:
- Route N6: 6 buses, interval 14 minutes.
- Route N8: 14 buses, interval 10 minutes.
- Route N27: 11 buses, interval 11 minutes.
- Route N39: 11 buses, interval 11 minutes.
- Route N42: 13 buses, interval 11 minutes.
- Route N44: 14 buses, interval 10 minutes.
- Route N46: 15 buses, interval 10 minutes.
- Route N47: 16 buses, interval 12 minutes.
- Route N57: 10 buses, interval 10 minutes.
It is also planned to replace the fleet on six routes serviced by 'Higer' brand buses, increasing the number of vehicles on routes 45 and 54.
- Route N4: 7 buses, interval 18 minutes.
- Route N45: 11 buses instead of 10, interval 11 minutes.
- Route N53: 14 buses, interval 15 minutes.
- Route N54: 14 buses instead of 10, interval 11-12 minutes.
- Route N59: 8 buses, interval 13 minutes.
- Route N65: 13 buses, interval 11-12 minutes.
Additionally, there will be an increase of 14 units in nine 'Zhong Tong' serviced routes:
- Route N51: 3 units, interval 10 minutes.
- Route N99: 2 units, interval 8 minutes.
- Route N13: 1 unit, interval 10 minutes.
- Route N20: 1 unit, interval 12 minutes.
- Route N50: 1 unit, interval 12 minutes.
- Route N55: 2 units, interval 13-14 minutes.
- Route N52: 1 unit, interval 11-12 minutes.
- Route N77: 2 units, interval 16 minutes.
- Route N49: 1 unit, interval 10 minutes.
Based on the efficiency of route operations, bus route N64 will be operated by 'Gazelle-City' microbuses with a fleet of 8 units. The microbus route N40 will operate with 'Higer' buses as N60 with 7 units. The microbus route N55A will run with 'Higer' buses as N66 with 5 units. The number of vehicles on routes N26, N42, and N75 will each increase by one unit.
As a result, public transport in Yerevan will be completely serviced by the Yerevan City Hall, and there will be fleet changes on 29 of the existing 76 routes, which will reduce service intervals on certain routes and improve the efficiency of operations and the quality of passenger service.
