China's Defense Ministry Responds to Pentagon Report

The U.S. military strategy is increasingly becoming offensive, leading to confrontation. This was stated by the official representative of China's Ministry of Defense, Zhang Xiaogang.

Zhang made this announcement on December 21 while commenting on a report previously presented by the Pentagon regarding China's military development.

According to sources, the U.S. Department of Defense had noted in a report prepared for the U.S. Congress that by mid-2024, China is expected to have over 600 nuclear warheads, with the number exceeding a thousand by 2030. The Pentagon's data indicates that China is actively increasing its nuclear capabilities amid strengthening strategic competition with the U.S. and other countries.

Furthermore, the report highlights that the United States intends to maintain open channels of communication with China to prevent the competition between the two countries from escalating into military conflict.
