Sooner or Later, Israel Will Understand: Erdogan
Turkey will continue to corner Israel in all directions, forcing it to act in accordance with the law. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who noted that violations of international law have become a norm for Israel.
“They have violated international law in Gaza, and the world has remained silent. They have occupied the sovereign territory of Lebanon and spilled blood, and again the world has remained silent. Today, Israel's recklessness has spread to Syria. There exists UN Security Council Resolution 242 from 1967, which pertains to Israel's occupation of the Golan Heights. This resolution condemns the occupation and demands the withdrawal of Israel from the region. It is important that the international community takes measures to remind of and implement this resolution,” Erdogan told reporters.
He noted that although they are weak, Western countries have begun to speak out against the Israeli occupation. “Sooner or later, Israel will understand that international law obligates it. We will continue to corner Israel in all directions and force it to act in accordance with the law. However, it is necessary to effectively use all international mechanisms to prevent Israel from benefiting from the situation created in Syria. Here, Western countries, especially the U.S., have an obligation to stop Israel,” said the Turkish leader.
Erdogan emphasized that “Israeli aggression, which constantly threatens peace and stability in our region, must be stopped before it is too late.”
