CP holds meeting regarding Aslanyan: Factor

The "Civil Contract" faction of the National Assembly will hold a meeting today regarding the issue of removing MP Hakob Aslanyan from the faction. Factor TV has reported that members of the CP are arriving one by one at the National Assembly building.

Recall that the ruling faction's MP Hakob Aslanyan stated in an interview with Factor TV today that he is suspending his membership in the CP for one month. Aslanyan is suggesting that a parliamentary group be formed within the CP, summon Agazaryan for clarifications, and try to fundamentally change his opinion about Agazaryan; if the CP members are unsuccessful, he will leave the party.

Arsen Torosyan, a member of the CP administration, responded to Aslanyan. "Hakob Aslanyan will be removed from the Civil Contract faction of the Republic of Armenia's National Assembly," announced Torosyan. He referred to the behavior of Hovik Agazaryan and Hakob Aslanyan as "political betrayal and treason."

The meeting regarding Aslanyan was initially scheduled for 16:30, then announced to be at 17:00, and now it is noted that it may occur later or not at all today.
