Minister's Yet Another Unfulfilled Promise: "Hraparak"
According to the "Hraparak" daily, two years ago, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan publicly announced that vaccinations against chickenpox would commence in Armenia in 2024. She claimed that the vaccination was supposed to start in 2022, but it could not be realized due to the overwhelming burden of Covid-19.
With less than a month left in the year, sources from the health sector reported that there is still no chickenpox vaccine available in polyclinics. The media outlet sent an inquiry regarding the absence of the vaccine, to which the reply received was a bewildered, "Why should there be one?"
We reminded them that it was the minister who made such promises. Avanesyan herself had stated, "Yes, this has been discussed, the tender was announced and won, the vaccine is in Armenia, but distribution has not yet taken place." Thus, it appears that Avanesyan has once again failed to deliver on a project.
