32 Drivers Dismissed, No Compromise Will Be Made: Tigran Avinyan

Yerevan's buses will operate tomorrow, as announced by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan on Public TV. He stated, “I hope that people understand that this is being done to establish norms of decency within ‘Yerevan Bus’, which have not been implemented until now.”

According to the mayor, 32 drivers were dismissed today. He expressed regret over the situation, as these dismissals affect 32 families, but emphasized that such an approach will not be tolerated.

Regarding the hiring of new drivers, Avinyan noted that there are approximately 50,000 drivers in Armenia with a category D license. “Our objective is not to replace drivers. Our goal is to resolve the existing situation. There will be no compromise, there truly will be none. I apologize to the residents of Yerevan for the inconvenience caused today,” said the mayor.
