Attempts to Shock the Situation: Peskov
Events happening in Georgia exhibit all the signs of an attempt to carry out an orange revolution. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, during a briefing.
He emphasized that everything currently unfolding in Georgia is an internal affair of the country, and Russia has never intervened and will not intervene in these matters.
“An attempt is being made to shock the situation. We have seen this in a number of countries. All the signs of implementing an orange revolution are present,” said the Kremlin representative.
He added that Georgian authorities are taking measures to stabilize the situation and return the country to a state of calm.
Protests began in Tbilisi and other cities in Georgia on November 28, following the government’s announcement to suspend negotiations on the country’s accession to the European Union until 2028. According to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, this decision was prompted by the unacceptable actions of European politicians, who, he claims, use grants and loans as tools of blackmail.
