Snow, Fog: Current Conditions on Armenia's Roads

The Emergency Situations Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in Armenia.

The road from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Kary Lake is closed. The Tashir-Blagodanoye and Saratovka-Novoseltsovo roads are also closed. The Berd-Chambarak road is difficult for all types of vehicles, the Vardenyac Pass is challenging for trucks with trailers, and the roads in the Ashotsk region are difficult for freight vehicles.

There are areas of black ice on the roadways at the Tigranashen bends, as well as on the Saravan-Zanger, Aragats-Tsilkhar, Berd-Chambarak, Gyumri-Anipemza roads, and on the roads in the regions of Ashotsk, Aparan, Aragats, Maralik, and from the Sevan traffic police checkpoint to the Dilijan tunnel.

Blizzard conditions are reported on the Ahtik-Alagyaz, Aparan-Nigavan, Hnaberd-Geghadzor, and Rya Taza-Jamshlu roads. Fog is observed in the city of Goris.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires. Due to deteriorating weather conditions, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the crisis management center of Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia.
