Protesters in Tbilisi Will Not Leave the Center Until Monday
Supporters of the Georgian opposition, who disagree with the results of the parliamentary elections in the country, are gathering in the center of Tbilisi, at First Republic Square, ahead of a declared march to the parliament, reports a correspondent from РИА Новости.
The crowd, holding placards and Georgian flags, has occupied the busy part of the square. Some participants are visibly carrying EU flags. It is expected that many opposition supporters from the regions will join the protest taking place in the capital.
Earlier, the opposition announced plans to hold a march through central Tbilisi towards the parliament and a rally in front of the building on Sunday. The protesters are expected to remain in the area and stay near the parliament until Monday, when, according to protocol, the first meeting of the deputies is scheduled.
