The Worse It Gets, the Better for Him: Volodin

The leaders of Western countries must understand that Russia will defend itself. This was stated by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin in an interview with Rossiya-24 television.

“I can say right away that the decision to strike is correct and long-awaited. We have spoken many times, and all those who wanted to hear have probably understood. Those who, in contrast, have begun to do everything to escalate the situation, primarily U.S. President Joe Biden, his friends in Europe, and others, they must understand that Russia will defend itself. And we have means to do this,” he said.

“Everyone understands that in the face of challenges and escalation, when strikes are being inflicted on our Russian cities, it is necessary to respond. As for the outgoing president of the United States and the leaders of a number of European countries, they need to reflect. Today, they are the ones doing everything to escalate the situation, dragging the world into a quagmire of problems,” Volodin added. “The situation is indeed complex, but I want to emphasize once again that we will support the president; we will do everything we can from our side to ensure that our country can not only defend itself but also ensure sustainable development.”

Commenting on Biden's actions, Volodin stated that he wishes to create as many problems as possible for those currently elected and who will soon be responsible for the situation in the United States. “All of his actions indicate one thing: the worse it gets, the better for him. But in this case, it is worse for the whole world, worse for the Americans themselves. And, of course, Europe suffers the most,” noted the Chairman of the State Duma.
