21st Century Most Decorated Weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze to Engage in Politics
The three-time Olympic champion and seven-time world and European champion Georgian weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze will not participate in the World Championship, as reported by the International Weightlifting Federation.
This marks the first time since 2015 that the legendary Georgian weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze will miss the World Championship.
The most decorated weightlifter of the 21st century is now set to engage in politics. Talakhadze has been elected as a member of the National Assembly of Georgia from the 'Georgian Dream' party.
Lasha Talakhadze has won gold medals at the Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and has claimed the title of world champion seven times, as well as being the European champion an equal number of times.
