The Report of the Inquiry Commission on the 44-Day War is Completed: Kocharyan Provides Details

The report of the inquiry commission investigating the causes of the 44-day war has been completed amid speculations over the past 2-3 days regarding Andranik Kocharyan allegedly possessing some secret documents. This was stated by Andranik Kocharyan, the Chairman of the Defense and Security Commission, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.

“Andranik Kocharyan cannot have secret documents because the commission was established by the National Assembly. The constitutional commission and the work performed by that commission belong to the National Assembly and the state. After its presentation, the report will serve our country's security, and in December, it will undergo the examination phase related to confidentiality,” he said. Kocharyan pointed out that the report is quite comprehensive.

When asked whether the entire report would be made public, the deputy replied, “It is still unclear which part of the report will be secret and which part will be published, but it will be presented in full volume during the plenary sessions of the National Assembly.”

Addressing the question of whether there was a breach in the deadline for presenting the report, Kocharyan stated, “No, if there were a violation, do you know what would happen in our opposition camp right now? There is no violation because, for the first time, everyone has understood what the requirements of the regulatory law and the Constitution imply, firstly qualitative indicators, and only then quantitative indicators.”

Kocharyan added that after the report, there might be criminal cases. According to him, there are already initiated criminal proceedings, the numbers of which he will announce during the plenary sessions in the National Assembly.
