VIDEO: Alen Simonyan on Amending the National Anthem of Armenia

The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, addressed the proposal to amend the national anthem of Armenia during a live broadcast on Radio Aurora.

"The last part of the same text should be changed, simply not concluding with a call for us all to die. The anthem should inspire hope. I believe we should eventually consider a completely different, Armenian version of the anthem, one that has much more connection to Armenia and the Armenian people," Simonyan said.

It is noteworthy that Alen Simonyan, along with two other members of the "Civil Contract" faction, Sisak Gabrielyan and Taguhi Ghazaryan, are proposing changes to the law on the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia. More details can be found in the video.
