Video: Director of Company Refusing Protection Attacked and Robbed

The Criminal Police Department has received operational information that a 40-year-old man registered in the Ajapnyak district of Yerevan, together with a group of individuals, visited the site of a limited liability company on Shirak Street in the capital around 7 PM on November 1. They offered the director of the company a monthly payment in exchange for providing protection.

According to the reports from the RA Police, the director refused the offer, after which the 40-year-old man and the accompanying individuals assaulted him, stole 2.5 million drams from a non-flammable cabinet in his office, and then left the premises.

Based on the immediate appearance of reasonable suspicion of having committed a crime, the 40-year-old man was arrested and transferred to the Shengavit precinct of the Community Police. He was then taken to the investigative department of the Shengavit division of the Yerevan City Investigation Committee.

A criminal case has been initiated under the features of robbery committed by a group of individuals in preliminary agreement in large amounts. The 40-year-old man has been charged, and by court decision, he has been remanded in custody. The identities of other participants have also been established, and measures are being taken to locate them and bring them before the prosecuting authority.
