It's Time to Put an End. Medvedev on Migrant Children's Education in Russia

The migration policy of the Russian Federation must align with the interests of its citizens, rather than those of foreign states. This was stated by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, as reported by TASS.

According to him, the issue of improving migration policy is very relevant and sensitive. “This policy must truly respond to the interests of our country's citizens, and not to the interests of some other states, foreign countries or groups, no matter how important they may be to us,” the politician said.

Medvedev also emphasized that low-skilled migrants should only come to Russia for work purposes. The official noted that “it’s time to put an end” to the admission of migrant children who do not speak Russian into Russian schools. Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council suggested prohibiting migrants arriving for seasonal work from coming with their families. He also called for the gradual teaching of the Russian language to foreign children in Russian schools.
