The United States is fully aware of the tensions present in the Middle East and will continue to support Israel's defense against potential attacks from Iran and its proxy forces, as well as protect U.S. forces stationed in the region. This was announced by Pentagon Press Secretary, Air Force Major General Pat Ryder.

Ryder made this statement in response to a question regarding whether Iran might retaliate for Israel's recent airstrikes directed at Iranian military sites. He emphasized that Pentagon officials are closely monitoring the situation. “We are prepared for all types of developments,” stated the spokesperson.

Earlier, the Pentagon announced that the United States would send to Israel medium-range missiles intended for the THAAD mobile ground-based missile defense system to intercept at high altitude, along with the necessary troops to operate it. This system will help bolster Israel's air defense. The delivery of this advanced missile defense system could further inflame the conflict in the Middle East, despite widespread diplomatic efforts aimed at avoiding a comprehensive war.
