VIDEO: Let a lot of people die, but Artsakh should remain in its place: Arushanyan
I have spoken about Artsakh. I believed that the outcome of the war should have been different. This was stated by Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan during a conversation with reporters.
In response to a clarifying question about whether he has been detained and whether he should refrain from speaking against them, Arushanyan said that whenever there was something to speak against, he did:
“I have spoken about Artsakh. I thought that the outcome of the war should have been different. I have been of the opinion that let us fight, let me fight too, die, but let 500,000 people like me also die, but Artsakh should remain in its place. I believe that millions can die for the homeland.”
When asked if he feels constrained to say who is to blame for the loss of Artsakh, and whether Pashinyan is guilty, he replied, “Yes, Pashinyan is guilty for the loss of Artsakh. Let many people die; my opinion may be wrong. I think they should have died. The government does not think so, and the majority of the population welcomed the government's viewpoint, is that correct? We have lost the war, the enemy has captured it; now what’s the difference between recognition and non-recognition? Why are you asking me that question, ask the Prime Minister instead?”
