Medvedev: 'In Such Cases, Resignation and Arrest Are Normal'
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, has referred to Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili as a puppet, claiming she refuses to accept the election results and, in his view, contradicts the constitution, warranting her removal and arrest.
"The puppet president of Georgia has refused to accept the election results and has opposed the constitution by calling for a coup d'état, which is a common practice in such cases - resignation and arrest are the norm," Medvedev wrote on his English-language account on the social media platform 'X'.
Parliamentary elections took place in Georgia on October 26. According to the Central Election Commission, the ruling party, "Georgian Dream," which maintains relations with the Russian Federation and opposes anti-Russian sanctions, received 53.93 percent of the votes.
