Armenian Proposals Welcomed by Azerbaijan: Mirzoyan
The proposals presented by the Armenian side regarding the unblocking of regional infrastructures have been welcomed by Azerbaijan. This was stated today by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, during a joint meeting of permanent committees in the National Assembly while presenting the draft budget for 2025.
“It is public knowledge that we have conveyed proposals to the Azerbaijani side, which have, in fact, also been welcomed semi-officially. I mention this to illustrate that there is a certain positive atmosphere here,” said Mirzoyan.
He added that in the near future, work will continue with the Azerbaijani side on unblocking issues where it is currently possible to reach a consensus.
The Armenian Foreign Minister reminded that the principle is that unblocked infrastructures should remain under the authority of the countries and operate according to the legislation of the countries through which they pass. Everything must be done on the basis of reciprocity. He recalled that these principles are reflected in the Armenian government's “Peace Crossroad” program, which has been welcomed by many countries and international partners.
According to Mirzoyan, they believe that this project can be part of more global networks or new initiatives.
“The Peace Crossroad is the vision where we also see the unblocking of transport and logistics infrastructures between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” said Mirzoyan.
