«If this is not uncovered, our country cannot survive as a state» - Sasun Mikaelyan

We are obligated to uncover the case of October 27. This was stated today, October 27, by the president of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Sasun Mikaelyan, during a conversation with journalists at the Yerablur Pantheon.

“Our legislative and executive bodies were targeted. We must be assertive in demanding the investigation of this case,” he said.

When asked about the current phase of the investigation, Mikaelyan responded, “That is the responsibility of the law enforcement agencies. Let’s see what results will emerge later; we will remain interested in it through our words and actions. Our statement indicates that both the prosecutor and the law enforcement bodies have changed. We, the defenders of the homeland, are the ones demanding disclosure. If this is not uncovered, our country cannot survive as a state in the future,” he emphasized.

Addressing the accusations that they sold Artsakh, Mikaelyan replied, “The defenders continue the legacy left by Sparapet (Commander) and have participated with 4,000 personnel in combat operations in nine directions in Artsakh during the 44-day war, resulting in 74 fatalities and 113 injuries. From 2020 until today, the defenders have been maintaining the borders of the Republic of Armenia with a substantial number of troops, and we are currently guarding the state borders in around seven directions. This has been our mission from the very beginning.”
