Eight Members of Mihiran Poghosyan's Party Arrested
Last night, around 11:15 PM, individuals in civilian clothing, accompanied by patrol service, stopped the car of members of the "Armenian National Unity" party without any justification. Following this, the party's vice-president Ararat Avetisyan, along with council members Hayk Stepanyan and Armine Simonian, as well as other members of the party's youth union, were forcefully taken to the Shengavit Police Department in Yerevan.
According to the party's statement, "In total, eight members of the party have been arrested, three of whom are female. Once again, the current administration is resorting to repressive methods to intimidate the members of the ANU party, this time using force even against female representatives. No member of the party was given the opportunity to contact a lawyer or a relative. We strongly condemn the political persecution ordered by the current administration."
