TikTok Representatives Visit Armenia; Security Norms to Be Implemented

The Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry, Gevorg Mantashyan, has received representatives from the TikTok social media platform, including Sergey Sokolov, the Director of Corporate Affairs for Eastern Europe, and Burzhuyev Azamat, the Head of Government Relations for Central Asia, Romania, and Moldova. This was reported by the ministry's press service.

During the meeting, discussions centered around developing cooperation with TikTok, assessing its public impact and consequences, finding solutions for their prevention, and implementing security norms, as well as enhancing digital literacy, among other topics.

The Deputy Minister shared his concerns regarding the creation of images through AI, the issues of misinformation dissemination, and the importance of content labeling and tagging for AI usage.

Sergey Sokolov presented the efforts made in recent years and the work carried out by the company to prevent issues, along with engaging new functionalities and reducing risks related to various sectors within the framework of TikTok's operations in Armenia.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue discussions on the mentioned issues.
