Video: Nerkhin Hand Surrounded on Three Sides by Azerbaijani Armed Positions, Says Tatoyan
Nerkhin Hand is a village in the Kapan community of Armenia, which is surrounded on three sides by over twenty Azerbaijani armed positions. In this area, 2,700 hectares of land have been occupied by Azerbaijan. This was reported by former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page.
“We have documented additional evidence of Azerbaijani crimes against the residents of Nerkhin Hand, including thousands of tree cuttings in Armenia's Shikahogh State Reserve and the construction of military roads spanning dozens of kilometers, large numbers of mines (as exemplified by two Azerbaijani positions), deprivation of residents' access to drinking water, and armed positions situated in close proximity to civilian homes, among other issues,” wrote Tatoyan.
Azerbaijan is hosting the COP29 event concerning the environment, while it is actively destroying the ecological environment of Armenia. These facts need to be presented on international platforms to reveal Azerbaijan's true intentions,” noted Tatoyan.
