How Long Will Strong Magnetic Storms Last on Earth

Strong magnetic storms on Earth will last for at least three days, with some reaching significant intensity. These storms are expected to conclude only at the beginning of Monday. This was reported by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, on his Telegram channel.

The meteorologist noted that magnetic storms might occasionally reach the G3 level, classified as strong magnetic storms. He mentioned that the Earth's magnetosphere was in a calm state from Thursday night to Friday.

Magnetic storms are disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field caused by solar plasma flows from active regions of the Sun. The G index rates the strength of magnetic storms on a scale of five levels, where G1 is the weakest and G5 is the strongest.

During a G3 level storm, there may be issues with the operation of power systems, artificial connections of circuit breakers, disruptions in satellite navigation, and radio communication. Additionally, a strong magnetic storm could result in the appearance of auroras in the sky.
