About the Procurement of 100 Bulletproof Vests from the Investigative Committee

Separate media outlets, without considering it necessary to obtain clarifications from the competent authority, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, have decided to create a storm in a teacup over the procurement of a batch of 100 bulletproof vests, making assumptions that are as fantastic as they are amusing, disconnected from reality. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, Gor Abrahamyan, on his Facebook page.

“We find it necessary to clarify that the purchase of bulletproof vests has been made based on the operational needs of the personnel of the Military Investigative Main Department of the Committee and is determined by the peculiarities of their activities. Officers of the Military Investigative Main Department frequently need to conduct investigative actions in combat positions on the front line, in which case it is essential to ensure that the investigator is equipped with the necessary protective means. Incidentally, for the same needs, not only bulletproof vests but also helmets have been procured,” wrote Abrahamyan.
