Another High-Ranking Official Resigns After Minasian's Departure

According to Hraparak, just hours after Grigor Minasian’s resignation, the head of the RA Ministry of Justice's Penal Correctional Service, Ambakum Grigoryan, has also submitted his resignation. Grigoryan, who was appointed by Minasian, has faced considerable opposition within the ruling Civil Contract party since his appointment.

Reports indicate that Grigoryan has close ties to previous administrations and has been criticized for his incompetence in the role. He has turned prisons into cultural centers and replaced knowledgeable staff with loyal appointees. Grigoryan was appointed to this position in December 2023 by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
