The State Revenue Committee Imposes Restrictions on Smartphone Imports

The State Revenue Committee has urged citizens arriving in Armenia to bring only the newly purchased and personally owned Apple iPhone 16 mobile phones. It is essential to refrain from accepting requests from individuals at airports in other countries to bring mobile phones, as these individuals and/or their acquaintances residing in Armenia may be engaged in a disguised entrepreneurial activity that could indirectly involve you.

Experience shows that citizens going on vacation, in some cases unable to refuse requests from compatriots approaching them at airports in other countries, import mobile phones into Armenia and then pass them on to unfamiliar others.

At the same time, the Committee has announced that customs services will implement enhanced customs control to prevent the introduction of commercially intended mobile phones into Armenia through indirect means.
