Erdogan on Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace settlement process during a meeting with representatives of analytical centers in the United States at Turkey’s residence in New York.
“Azerbaijan and Armenia have been given an important opportunity to ensure long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” he stated.
According to him, Turkey's principled position is to facilitate the resolution of disputes, peace, and the strengthening of friendly relations.
“We consider it essential to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, as well as the norms of international law,” he emphasized.
Speaking about his upcoming speech at the UN General Assembly, Erdogan mentioned that he intends to reiterate that the five powers of the UN Security Council cannot resolve all global issues and that this format needs to be reviewed.
