Changes to Mandatory Insurance Rules Come into Effect

As of September 18, amendments and additions to the "General Terms of Mandatory Insurance" have come into effect, according to which:

1. For insurance incidents occurring in Yerevan, the maximum amount eligible for compensation has been increased from 200,000 drams to 400,000 drams for cases where the agreed statement is filled out via mobile application.
2. Insurance companies are now required to inform drivers about their obligations in an accessible manner during phone calls when dealing with cases that differ from those regulated by the agreed statement.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges drivers to adhere to traffic rules, quickly coordinate the process with their mandatory insurance company in case of a traffic accident, and reach an agreement. If no agreement is reached, the patrol service will promptly approach the incident scene to avoid traffic congestion.
