What is happening on the Yerevan-Abovyan highway, how many people have been detained?

It has been reported that there has been a tense situation on the Yerevan-Abovyan highway since this morning, with several individuals detained.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs' police are attempting to close the parking areas of stores adjacent to that section of the road, placing iron barriers in the area. Business operators are expressing their dissatisfaction, stating that this will disrupt their normal operations, and customers will not be able to park.

For comments, Radar Armenia contacted the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which stated: "To ensure the normal operation of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, a barrier is being installed by the Road Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure at the Upper Ptghni section. The police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs are ensuring public order on-site. Two individuals have been brought to the Kotayk police department for an act specified in Article 182 of the RA Criminal Code. This does not aim to obstruct the activities of any business operator; it ensures the normal flow of traffic and the safety of participants in traffic along the interstate road's roadside."
