Police Officer Abducts His Love from the Bathroom, Parents Left in the Dark
A 30-year-old resident of a village in the Gegharkunik region, identified as Kh.P., went to the house of the girl he likes in a neighboring village on the evening of September 15 with friends and his uncle and abducted her.
The girl's aunt told Oragir.News that the boy's family has been expressing interest in her sister's daughter for four years, but neither the girl nor her parents have agreed. When the boy learned that another suitor had appeared, he resorted to such drastic measures.
“It wasn’t the first time. Yesterday, around 6-7 PM, this boy, along with his father, uncle, cousin, and another relative, came to my sister’s house. At that time, only the grandfather and the younger brother were at home. They entered the house and immediately started shouting. The boy then told the girl’s mother, ‘Have you found a new groom? Your daughter should be mine, or I will set her on fire.’ They later learned that the girl was in the bathroom, which is located outside. This boy went outside, and the uncle locked the door from the inside to prevent her mother and other family members from getting out. They broke down the bathroom door and took the girl away wrapped in a towel,” the aunt recounted.
According to her, later that evening, the girl called home and reported that she had been taken to the police station, where she was forced to write a statement saying she left voluntarily. “The boy who abducted my sister’s daughter worked in the Martuni police service, so naturally, he has contacts in the police. They scared the girl at the station, and she wrote a statement saying she left of her own accord, but that’s impossible. If it were her choice, she would have had other options to escape. The next day, she managed to find a phone, secretly called her sister, and said, ‘Come and save me, or I will die. They took me by force and made me write that statement.’
