Macron Appoints New Prime Minister
French President Emmanuel Macron has appointed a new Prime Minister, former European Commissioner and former French Foreign Minister Michèle Barnier. This was announced by the press service of the Élysée Palace.
"Emmanuel Macron has tasked her with creating a government of unity that will serve the country and the French people," stated a declaration from the French leader's administration.
Earlier, it was reported that 81 deputies of the 'New People’s Front' coalition in France signed a resolution to remove Emmanuel Macron from power. Representatives of the left-wing coalition demanded the resignation of the country’s leader, following his refusal to appoint a Prime Minister from the coalition that won the parliamentary elections.
