US Preparing to Blame Russia: CNN
The Biden administration is poised to accuse Russia of attempting to influence American elections, according to CNN citing its sources. The White House is expected to make a public statement regarding these claims on September 4, while the U.S. Department of Justice plans to announce countermeasures against the alleged Russian interference in the elections.
Previously, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the winner of the U.S. elections will be determined by the American people, emphasizing that Russia's role is to refrain from interference and to observe the process.
The presidential elections in the United States are set to take place on November 5. It was anticipated that the Democratic Party would field Biden as their candidate; however, following his poor performance in the June debate against Donald Trump, calls within the Democratic ranks for Biden to withdraw from the race began to grow louder. On July 21, he decided to step back from the race and supported Kamala Harris's candidacy for the nation's highest office. Trump has announced he will run as the Republican candidate.
