Discussion on Handing Over Control of Road to Nakhichevan to Private Entity

No new details have emerged regarding the handover of control over the road connecting Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan via Syunik to a private security company. This was announced today by Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan during a briefing at the National Assembly.

“This issue has been discussed, but details are not yet known,” he stated. According to the Deputy Foreign Minister, Armenian border guards and customs officials will continue their operations on that road.

“There has been talk about the possibility of involving a private company, but the specifics are still lacking. This does not relate to the ‘Peace Crossroads’ project, but it falls within its logic,” he added.
