Traffic Violations Recorded Over One Week

From August 26 to September 2, during a service conducted in the capital, Yerevan police discovered 4,304 violations of traffic rules, impounding 135 vehicles in protected special areas. In particular, 144 individuals were found driving under the influence, while 296 were driving without a valid driver’s license. Other violations included 37 related to registration plates, 364 for failing to wear seatbelts, 302 for using tobacco products while driving, 178 for using a phone while driving, 494 for pedestrians crossing in non-designated areas, and 1,597 for various other offenses.

Additionally, 114 vehicles were operated without insurance, 114 had not undergone technical inspection, 63 had faulty external lights, and 152 had tinted side windows. Furthermore, 95 individuals were arrested and taken to police stations on various suspicions.

In the same period, in the regions, police detected 13,019 violations of traffic rules, moving 232 vehicles to protected special areas. This included 240 individuals driving under the influence and 867 without a valid driver’s license. Other violations included 70 related to registration plates, 2,673 for not wearing seatbelts, 269 for using tobacco products while driving, 462 for using a phone while driving, 23 for pedestrians crossing in non-designated areas, speeding violations totaling 1,659, and 3,662 for various other offenses.

500 vehicles were operated without insurance, 1,590 had not undergone technical inspection, and 447 had faulty external lights, including 36 trucks, 193 with tinted windshields and side windows. Alongside this, 51 individuals were arrested and taken to police stations on various suspicions.
