During an inspection at a public catering facility owned by individual entrepreneur Araik Abrahamyan in Vanadzor, Lori Province, inspectors from the Armenian National Center for Food Safety revealed that it was operating in violation of sanitary and hygiene standards established by legal acts.
Specifically, the violations included:
- The kitchen walls did not have a smooth surface, were not in a state of repair, and were not made of waterproof, non-porous, washable materials.
- The ceilings and upper structures were not designed and constructed to prevent or reduce the accumulation of dirt, condensation of vapor, unwanted mold growth, or the potential for particles to fall.
- The windows lacked easy-to-open and clean insect-proof nets when necessary.
- The working surfaces in food storage areas—particularly tables and shelves—were not maintained in a state of repair and were not made of smooth, cleanable, corrosion-resistant materials.
The operations of the public catering facility have been suspended, and a deadline has been set for addressing the identified violations.
