Several Major Opposition Parties in Georgia Are Concealing Their Funding Sources: Kuprashvili
Several major opposition parties in Georgia are partially or completely concealing their funding sources. This was announced by the head of the Georgian Anti-Corruption Bureau, Razhden Kuprashvili.
“As a result of monitoring conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, it has been revealed that political parties, particularly 'European Georgia: Movement for Freedom', 'Yes to Europe: Agile Strategy', and the 'National Movement', are not fully disclosing their funding,” Kuprashvili stated during a press briefing.
The Bureau chief suggested that the opposition parties' electoral campaigns could be funded by foreign donors. “Financing political processes in such a manner poses a threat to a fair electoral process,” Kuprashvili said.
