Macron Actively Uses Telegram

French President Emmanuel Macron has been actively using Telegram, reportedly after the arrest of the messenger's founder Pavel Durov in Paris. This information has been reported by Politico, citing a former member of the French parliament.

“The app is actively used in political circles and media, including by French President Emmanuel Macron,” the publication states. The former parliamentarian, who has Macron's contact number, showed the periodic news outlet a conversation he had with him. On August 26, Macron's profile indicated that he had recently joined Telegram.

It is worth noting that Durov was arrested on the evening of August 24 at Le Bourget Airport upon arriving from Azerbaijan. According to French judicial authorities, Durov is an accomplice to illegal activities conducted through his messenger.
