Peskov Comments on the Situation Surrounding Durov
Julya
The case of Durov could be viewed as political unless France presents serious evidence of his guilt. This statement was made by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.
According to him, very serious charges have been leveled against Durov, and a correspondingly serious evidentiary base is required. “Otherwise, it will be obvious that there is an attempt to restrict freedom of communication and, one could even say, to intimidate the head of a major company,” explained the official representative of the Kremlin.
The diplomat noted that Russia is ready to provide assistance to Durov, but the situation is complicated by his citizenship in France.
