Brutal Murder Uncovered in Yerevan: Details

On August 26, a particularly brutal murder case has been revealed in Yerevan. According to Shamshyan.com, police were searching for 36-year-old Ishkhan Simonian, a resident of Gegharkunik Province, who had been reported missing after leaving his home and not returning. Following two days of searching, a criminal case was initiated under the features of 'murder' in the investigative department of the Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts, and the police issued a public notice, including through the '02' hotline, seeking information about him.

Officers and investigators worked for days to determine where and with whom Ishkhan Simonian had last been seen. It was revealed that he had been with 25-year-old Socrat S. from Ararat Province, prompting the police to visit his residence, only to find he was not at home. The police then monitored his residence for one day.

This morning, August 26, Socrat S., likely knowing that police and investigators were closing in on him and that they were surveilling his residence, voluntarily presented himself to the police. He confessed to committing the murder and expressed his willingness to lead investigators to the crime scene. This location was identified as a stretch of road from the Jhrvezh district leading towards Nubarashen, where he pointed out the site of the body.

As a result of the investigator's decision, S. Sarkisyan was arrested. Preliminary findings by forensic experts indicated traces of violence on the body.
