22 People Die in Thailand Due to Floods and Landslides
In northern Thailand, at least 22 people have died due to floods and landslides caused by monsoon rains, reports the Bangkok Post. Another 19 individuals have been injured.
Furthermore, more than 30,000 families have been forced to evacuate their homes. Prolonged heavy rainfall has led to severe flooding in five northern provinces of Thailand.
Authorities have also warned of the risk of new floods in dozens of provinces in the north and northeast of the country. They have noted that due to rainfall, water levels in one of Thailand's largest rivers, the Chao Phraya, which flows through the capital city of Bangkok, could rise.
