What is the Status of the Ajapnyak Metro Construction Project?

Director of the Yerevan Urban Development Investment Projects Implementation Office, Aneta Babayan, reported on the project design works for the Ajapnyak metro construction during a meeting with the Yerevan City Municipality.

“We have received the results of the preliminary examination. We have submitted the comments for the revisions and are actively working with the contracting company. We expect to receive the revised project by the end of September, which will be submitted for final examination,” she stated.

Babayan noted that, based on current estimates, they expect to complete the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and examinations by December, allowing them to plan the competitive process for next year.

Mayor Tigran Avinyan inquired, “When you say we will send the project and receive the comments from the preliminary examination, we will proceed to the comprehensive examination; am I understanding correctly? Very well.”

Babayan added that it is expected to enter the public investment committee again by the end of the year, to finally identify the funding source, which will determine the subsequent processes.
