Kyrgyz Bank Suspends Transfers with Russian Banks
Kyrgyz MBank has indefinitely suspended bilateral transfers with Russian banks. "We inform you that as of August 16, 2024, monetary transfers through Russian banks, including Sberbank, Tinkoff, and MTS Bank, have been halted in both directions," the Kyrgyz bank reports, stating that the service has been suspended indefinitely.
It is also noted that incoming transfers in rubles will be processed through banks not subject to sanctions. Earlier in August, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev indicated that the European Union continues to warn Kyrgyzstan about the unacceptability of violating sanctions imposed on Russia.
