No Direct or Indirect Negotiations Exist: Zakharova

No one has canceled anything, as there was nothing to cancel. There have been and are no direct or indirect negotiations regarding the safety of civilian infrastructure objects between Russia and the Kyiv regime. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, while commenting on a publication by The Washington Post.

It is worth recalling that the publication had previously reported that Ukraine and Russia were to send their delegations to Qatar this month for secret peace negotiations; however, these were thwarted due to operations by the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region.

“Kyiv has had chances for a negotiated solution to the crisis more than once. The last was in June this year, when the Russian president's proposal included recognition of territorial realities, Ukraine's renunciation of NATO membership, the lifting of illegal sanctions, and the elimination of discrimination against Russian-speaking citizens. However, after August 6, the world saw the reaction to this goodwill gesture—a bandit attack in the Kursk region, their atrocities against civilians, targeted killings of doctors, rescuers, and volunteers, attacks on civilian vehicles, missile strikes on residential buildings, widespread looting, and even dangers threatening nuclear safety. Of course, as Vladimir Putin said, there is nothing to discuss with those who do such things,” Zakharova stated.
