Arush Arushanyan is barred from serving as the mayor of Goris by court ruling
The Anti-Corruption Court of Appeal has decided to suspend the powers of Arush Arushanyan, the mayor of Goris, and has prohibited him from holding public office for a period of five years.
As reported by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Norayr Shogikyan, the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice has summoned Arushanyan to their office. They have taken his registration and presented a court decree stating that "he has been fined 700,000 AMD and is required to undergo a probation period of one year and six months, during which he cannot hold public positions for five years." This indicates that Arushanyan can no longer serve as the mayor of Goris.
The criminal case in question, for which Arushanyan has been found guilty, pertains to "abuse of official position, self-justice, and willfully causing harm to another person's health."
