One Person Arrested for Throwing Apple at Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan
One person has been arrested for throwing an apple at Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan. This information was confirmed to Sputnik Armenia by the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan.
"A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 297 (hooliganism) of the Armenian Criminal Code," stated Abrahamyan.
Yesterday, Armlur.am reported that Pashinyan had visited the home of one of his relatives at 2 Rubinyants Street, where a resident threw an apple at him from a window. Today, the media has revealed that 71-year-old Albert Arstamyan, a resident of the ninth floor, has been arrested for the incident.
It is important to note that the first part of Article 297 of the Criminal Code stipulates a punishment of a fine up to twenty times the minimum wage, or community service lasting from eighty to one hundred fifty hours, or restriction of liberty for a maximum of two years, or short-term imprisonment for up to one month, or imprisonment for a maximum of two years.
