Blinken to Visit Israel: Axios

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to arrive in Israel on Sunday and meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, Israeli media reports.

They note that Blinken’s visit will occur against the backdrop of negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza, which have been taking place in Doha over the past two days. In Israel, these negotiations are referred to as the last chance to reach an agreement to halt the conflict in Gaza.

According to media reports, during the meeting with Netanyahu, it is expected that the U.S. Secretary of State will insist that the Israeli Prime Minister agrees to a ceasefire agreement with the radical Hamas group.

As Axios reports, citing sources, Blinken may also visit Cairo and Doha during this trip.
